Whenever I ask my friends if they had ever heard of Kiroro before, all of them reply with the same answer; no. So I guess that it won’t hurt to give a little background information about this amazing duo before starting the review. (Although I already wrote a review on one of their singles before.)

The duo first debuted in 1996 but they released their first major single in 1998. The dates that they’ve started their band might be an element for why some friends I know probably didn’t know them. (I heard about them through my mom.) The group consists of Chiharu Tamashiro as the vocalist and Ayano Kinjo on the keyboard/piano. They released about 10 albums and 18 singles. Their latest was release on March 4, 2009.

After watching the anime, Mushiking, I decided to review the opening theme; Ikitekoso. It starts with Ayano playing the melodious interlude at the beginning followed by Chikaru whose voice enters the song powerfully. At first, you might think that this is just and ordinary ballad but the voice sounded so powerful that it was a very memorable song. Besides the piano playing in the background, there are some hints of the violin and light drum beats that plays between the rifts. Somehow, it shares the same style as “Best Friend” because its a ballad that calm at the begining and strong in the end. Not to mention that both songs actually do repeat the chorus quite often. But I’m starting to say that I liked this song better.
